Schneider Electric - Thunder Bay Hospital
ESAC has expanded to offer services that suit the needs of
institution based organizations. The Thunder Bay Hospital project is a
prime example of how ESAC's skills can be directed towards the needs of a
client. The hospital required an Electrical Monitoring System (EMS) to
consolidate data from various switches, switchboards, unit substations,
transformers and emergency generators. Reliability is critical in a system
where power directly affects the well being of hospital patients. ESAC
systems are capable of delivering when it really matters.

ESAC
builds all projects to meet the needs of the customer. Officials at
the Thunder Bay Hospital required that Powerlogic System Manager Software
(SMS) be the SCADA software of choice and was easily integrated into our
design. The communication network behind the system is built in a
general way that allows for adjustment to the software of your
choice. All you will notice is that the system functions properly
with the software you specify.
With
human lives at stake, critical components of the hospital must not lose
power at any cost. Should power be lost, emergency generators exist
to ensure the hospital can continue functioning as normal. However,
should any generator fail, the hospital must ensure that power usage does
not cause total power loss. ESAC has designed an Emergency Power
Logic Unit (EPLU) to distribute the limited power to the critical devices
in the complex. With this technology, residents in the hospital can
feel confident that their service will not be interrupted.
