DNP3
Delivering fast and reliable communications for your system.

Your SCADA system could have up to several hundred devices communicating to your operators.  At any point, a critical piece of information may be coming in from the field.  ESAC's DNP3 Ethernet driver ensures that this critical information makes its way to your control room, no matter how many data points you have.  By providing all data at all times, ESAC allows you to choose which information is important, instead of your communication system. The driver harnesses the power of DNP3 by offering an integrated real-time Sequence of Events Recorder that delivers end device millisecond time-stamped change of state  event recording.  Combined with a powerful ESAC event viewer application the events can be viewed and sorted at the touch of a button.

SER

  •  Time-stamped at the end device according to a GPS Iriq-B system

  •  Real-time data processing during poll processing

Bulk Point Declaration

  • Only configure the number of each type of data point that are to be used instead of configuring each individual data point separately.  This preserves the point indexing as defined in the polled device. (Other DNP3 drivers on the market require you to define each point individually)

Internal Points

  • Currently supports internal communications status of polled devices

  • A future release may contain

  • Redundancy information and controls

  • Demand poll requests

Rock Solid Communications Recovery/Tolerances

  • Thoroughly tested communications recovery strategy

  • Powertool -   By defining channels, devices, and data blocks you can successfully configure your SCADA software to poll all of your devices in the field.  Test and debugging tools are also provided in the ED3 Powertool so that you may feel confident in your communication system.  Detailed error messages provide you with the exact errors that you are experiencing so they may be resolved quickly.  The Powertool makes setup and debugging simple, so that time isn't wasted maintaining your communication system. With bulk point declarations, duplicate point declarations are eliminated, thus reducing the complexity of your SCADA system.  The driver will simply pass through all data retaining the device-defined indices of your data points.

  • I/O Server - Since you want your communication system to be as transparent as possible, the I/O Server sits behind your SCADA software, out of the way.  A message log is available so that your operators may troubleshoot communication errors.

  • Intellution FIX Integration - With direct integration into the Intellution iFIX SCADA software, ESAC's DNP3 Ethernet driver makes communication setup simple.  It offers an integrated Datascope that can be used to analyze DNP3 messaging to and from your SCADA system.  Also, the ED3 offers built in data points to monitor the status of your device communications.
